A Formulary Exception (also known as a Tier Exception) is a process where an insurance provider wants to know if a medication is medically necessary and appropriate for the patient's situation. When approved the Insurance provider will include the medication in its formulary and cover the medication.
We will work with your doctor to collect any information necessary for the Formulary Exception and help initiate the process.
Please note this may cause a delay in processing the prescription, as a Formulary Exception can take up to 14 business days, depending on the responsiveness of your doctor and your insurance provider.
