Due to Federal law, pharmacies are unable to apply discount cards, manufacturer coupons, and rebates to prescriptions that are processed with Government-sponsored insurance. It is illegal for manufacturers to offer any type of payment that would persuade a patient to purchase something that federal healthcare programs might pay.
